The hallmark of MHT-CET is that there is no negative marking in the exam !
MHT-CET is the entrance exam conducted by the CET Cell, which is an arm of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra to admit students to the 350+ Engineering colleges of Maharashtra State – all Govt, autonomous and private colleges.
The MH-CET exam is conducted typically about 2-3 months after XII Boards examination. Engineering aspirants have to appear for 2 papers – the first one is a combined Test on Physics & Chemistry and the second one on Mathematics. The MHT-CET is out of 200 marks and has 1.5 hours each duration for both papers. There are about 79 chapters in PCM subjects of State Boards curriculum which is the syllabus of MHT-CET.
The distribution of questions and marks for both papers is as under :
Paper – 1 : Physics & Chemistry : 100 questions – 100 marks.
Paper – 2 : Mathematics : 50 questions – 100 marks.
From 2019 onwards, MHT-CET is an online exam just like JEE MAIN conducted in multiple exam slots and a Percentile is given to each student. Roughly, 150 marks corresponds to the 99th Percentile and 95 marks corresponds to the 90th Percentile in MHT-CET based on past 3 years statistics.
